Day 16: Visiting the Bank of FSM and Bank of Guam without me

When your friends hang out without you, chances are you’d feel blue. But, when they take pictures and happily show them to you, it would be like spending time with them in a virtual plane.

I did say that Tuesday was my favorite day of the week, yeah, that’s true and I would not take that back. Except that, last Tuesday, my friends roamed the city without me.

There were two things that Cha and Jane wanted to do

  1. Go to the Bank of Guam
  2. Go to the Bank of FSM (Federal States of Micronesia)

This time they asked Marcial to drive them to these banks and since Jordan was not on duty, he tagged along to play body guard to the girls.

Their first stop was the Bank of Guam to withdraw some cash, where they met Charima, who apparently was ready to pose for a snapshot.

Day 14: Restless Sunday and the Five-Dollar Thrill

Waking up on a Sunday morning was never easy, especially when there were no planned activities. Time seemed to pass innocently like a child learning the alphabet of another language.

The dorm was quiet, but the tenants were restless.

It was already late in the afternoon when Cha, Jordan and myself started to move about the city. Our first trip was the Bank of Guam. Nah, we didn’t fly to Guam, we just took a stroll within the city and checked if they have money in the bank.

Out of the 34, 000 people on Pohnpei, we met this guy who was kind enough to pose with us in front of the bank.

Day Two: Pohnpei

It was already morning, but I still wanted to sleep. My roommate, Lino, was on duty that time and slept at the emergency room. I was a bit anxious and excited because that day, I was about to get my ATM (for the payroll) and Social Security number.

By the way, Jordan’s bed made it in time for him to sleep. It was placed there before we got back to our rooms last night.

We were accompanied by Susa, a Pohnpeian who took us to the supreme court for Jordan’s papers to be notarized. It was there where a tall guy asked what does “Tayong Dalawa” means. Jordan answered, “That means the two of us.”

I took it as my cue to start some small talk. I told him, “it may also mean, the two of us together like partners.” then I added, “Do you have a Filipina girlfriend?” Continue reading
